To test comprehension, two or more paragraphs will be given and questions based on those will be asked. At least one paragraph should be a simple one based on a book or a story and the other paragraph should be based on current affairs editorial or a report.
Module 2 of Section 2 (General Awareness) Questions are designed to test the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially about History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy, and scientific research.
Module 2 of Section 3 of Paper 1 (Computer Proficiency) Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/ output devices, computer memory, memory organization, backup devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer, and Keyboard shortcuts.Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.Working with the Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e-banking.Basics of networking and cyber security: Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, viruses, worms, Trojans, etc.), and preventive measures.

SSC CHSL Minimum Qualifying Marks

Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Module-I of Section-III of Tier-II Examination are as follows:

  1. UR: 30%
  2. OBC/ EWS: 25%
  3. All other categories: 20%

SSC CHSL Syllabus Skill Test 2025

Skill assessments are an important factor in the selection process for various positions in the SSC CHSL examination.

1. Skill Test for Data Entry Operator (DEO)

To qualify for the Data Entry Operator position, candidates must demonstrate a typing speed of at least 8,000 keystrokes per hour. The skill assessment test will last 15 minutes, and applicants will be required to accurately transcribe an English document containing approximately 2,000 to 2,200 characters.

2. Skill Test for DEO in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):

Candidates applying for the Data Entry Operator (DEO) role at the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) must exhibit a typing proficiency of at least 15,000 keystrokes per hour. The skill assessment test will span 15 minutes, during which candidates will be required to accurately transcribe a printed English document containing approximately 3,700 to 4,000 characters into the test computer.

3.  Skill Test for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):

For the Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Personal Assistant (PA)/Stenographer Assistant (SA) roles, applicants must demonstrate a typing speed of at least 10,500 keystrokes per hour. The skill assessment test will be 15 minutes long, during which candidates will be required to accurately transcribe a printed English document containing approximately 2,625 characters (equivalent to 10,500 keystrokes per hour) into the test computer.
