RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2024 – Stage 1
The first stage of CBT is a screening test, with questions tailored to the educational standards required for the posts. Key details:
- The exam duration is 120 minutes for PWD candidates.
- A 1/3 mark deduction applies for incorrect answers.
- 20 times the community-wise vacancies will be shortlisted based on merit in the 1st Stage CBT and preference of posts.
- Normalized scores from Stage 1 will be used to shortlist candidates for Stage 2 based on merit.

Shortlisted candidates in reserved categories (OBC(NCL), SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, ExSM) will remain in these categories throughout the recruitment stages.

RRB NTPC Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2024
The CBAT is exclusively for candidates applying for the Station Master post.
- Qualifying marks: A minimum T-score of 42 in each test battery, with no relaxations.
- Candidates must pass all test batteries to be considered for Station Master or Traffic Assistant.
- The CBAT is available in English and Hindi only.
- There is no negative marking.
- The merit list considers 70% of the 2nd Stage CBT score and 30% of the CBAT score.
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (TST)
Candidates for Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Account Assistant cum Typist must pass a Typing Skill Test after CBT-1 and CBT-2.
- Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for the typing test.
- Requirements: 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a PC without editing tools or spell check.
RRB NTPC Document Verification (DV)
Candidates will be called for Document Verification based on their performance in Stage 2 and, if applicable, in CBAT or TST, in accordance with their merit and preferences.
