SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2025

SSC CGL Age Relaxation 2025

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) provides age relaxation to specific categories such as OBC, SC, ST, and PH, as mentioned in the SSC CGL 2025 notification. SSC CGL Education Qualification 2025

To be eligible for the SSC CGL Exam, candidates need to have graduated from a recognized university or institution. SSC CGL Nationality 2025

According to the SSC CGL 2025 notification, candidates must satisfy the following nationality requirements to be eligible:

  • Citizen of India, or
  • The subject of Nepal, or
  • The subject of Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Candidates belonging to any of the above categories and meeting the other SSC CGL 2025 eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification, etc. can apply for the examination.

Junior Statistical Officer Eligibility

The Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) role is a coveted position under the Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level examinations (SSC CGL). It is a non-gazetted Group ‘B’ role within the Subordinate Statistical Service (SSS). JSOs are entrusted with crucial responsibilities such as data collection, compilation, processing, and conducting various surveys to support diverse government initiatives. The candidates appearing for the SSC CGL examination must meet the prescribed SSC Physical Fitness Standards Eligibility Criteria. This requirement is mandatory for those applying to the following positions: Physical Standards for SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Inspector (Central Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer), Inspector & Sub-Inspector in CBN.”

For male candidates

Height 157.5 cm. Height relaxable by 5 cm in the case of Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and members of Scheduled Tribes.
Chest 81 cm (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.)
Physical Test Walking – 1600 meters in 15 minutes. Cycling – 8 Km. in 30 minutes.

Certain categories of candidates may have a relaxation of 5 cm in height requirement. The physical standards and test criteria might differ depending on the post and region.

For female candidates

Weight 48 Kgs. Weight relaxable by 2 Kg. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese, and members of Scheduled Tribes.
Physical Test Walking – 1 Km. in 20 minutes. Cycling – 3 Km. in 25 minutes.

For specific categories of candidates, there’s a relaxation of 2.5 cm in height and 2 kg in weight requirements.

NOTE: Candidates applying for the position of Inspector (Central Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer) with disabilities must meet the prescribed physical standards, including height, chest, and weight requirements, specific to their respective roles. However, for orthopedically disabled candidates, the following relaxations in the Physical Test are granted:

  • (a) The “Walking” test shall not be mandatory for individuals belonging to the One Leg affected (OL) and One Arm and One Leg affected (OAL) categories.
  • (b) The “Cycling” test shall be exempted for candidates in the One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), and One Arm and One Leg affected (OAL) categories.

Candidates with Disabilities (PwDs) are also eligible to apply for the SSC CGL exam under special SSC CGL eligibility criteria. Candidates must possess a minimum disability of 40% or more to qualify as Persons with Disabilities. The SSC extends certain relaxations in the eligibility criteria to these candidates. Applicants are required to submit the Disability Certificate issued by the authorized Medical Board along with their application form. SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Number Of Attempts

There is no fixed number of attempts for the SSC CGL examination. The permissible number of attempts is determined by the candidate’s age and the position they are applying for. For instance, if a candidate begins attempting the examination at the age of 21 and continues until the age of 30, they would have a total of 9 attempts for the position of Inspector in Central Excise.
