What is Sainik School Exam?

The Sainik Schools Society (SSS), is a part of the Ministry of Defence in India. They manage Sainik Schools, which are English-language boarding schools. These schools follow the curriculum set by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). 

They’re designed to train students for entry into military academies like the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Naval Academy. Currently, there are 33 Sainik Schools present across India.

Sainik School Eligibility Criteria 2025

Sainik School Eligibility Criteria 2025 Class 6

Sainik School Eligibility Criteria 2025 Class 9

  1. Nationality: Only national students can fill out this application form.
  2. Education qualification: The candidate must be studying or passed class VIII from a recognized school.
  3. Age criteria: The candidate should be between 13 and 15 as of March 31st, 2024. The candidate’s date of birth should fall between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2011.
  4. Gender: male and female both candidates can apply.

AISSEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria for New Sainik Schools Under 40% Route

 For admission to approved New Sainik Schools under the 40% route, the eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. The candidate should be between 10 and 12 years of age as of March 31, 2024.
  2. Their birth dates should fall between April 1, 2012, and March 31, 2014 (both days inclusive).

This means that candidates falling within this age range are eligible to apply for admission to Class VI in approved New Sainik Schools under the 40% route.

AISSEE Eligibility Criteria for New Sainik Schools Under 60% Route

For admission to approved New Sainik Schools under the 60% route, the eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. The candidate should be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2024, for admission to Class VI.
  2. Their birth dates should fall between April 1, 2012, and March 31, 2014 (both days inclusive) for the academic year 2024-2025.

Candidates falling within this age range are eligible to apply for admission to Class VI in approved New Sainik Schools under the 40% route.

AISSEE Sainik School Admission Process for Girls

The admission process for girls in Sainik Schools is similar to that for boys. Girls are eligible for admission to Class 6. To apply, female candidates must meet the Sainik School age limit for Class 6 before filling out the application form. After clearing the written exam, girls will participate in online counseling, followed by a medical examination.
